Why I Write ? The Pen And The Spoken Word.

Why do I, as a Christian freelancer, write on the Internet? Spoken words are often forgotten. The printed page lives on. The Reformation did not start with preaching. It started when Martin Luther posted up the written Word on a door! John Wesley was converted when he heard the preface to one of Martin Luther’s writings being read out in a church in Aldersgate about two hundred years after they were written! Martin Luther had long died but his written words live on. You see the pen is greater than the sword. When your pen writes truth it cuts like a PEN-knife. We have been given a mission as Christians to warn the world of imPENding doom. Tell the world about our Saviour. We have to make them think. Our pen will make them PENsive. 

Many will never rePENt until we use our pen. Many are too far away to hear the sPokEN word. Many will never know right from wrong until we write. What will deePEN their convictions like our pen? What will deePEN their dePENdence on God? There is a PotENcy in the pen. 

It is not about earthly comPENsation. Any PaymENt is mere PENnies or PEaNuts, often far from giving a writer a stiPENd or a PENsion. The Christian must use the pen to PENetrate hearts that have grown cold and indifferent. Spare no exPENse to achieve this. The serPENt, our opPonENt, has his agenda too. He writes too. He wants to fill the world with things that will taint us to make us unprepared for the imPENding judgment. So bring out your pens and sharpen your PENcils, for we have PlENty work to do. If we are proPonENts of Jesus the CarPENter from Nazareth and His Holy Spirit our pens will be well poised to oPEN the hearts and minds of God’s sheep. This is no game or child-play. There is no play-PEN. This is a war-zone with eternal PENalties. As the pen PrEseNts the Gospel the Gospel itself will be an eye-oPENer. ParENts will be drawn to their children in love. Children will embrace their parents. 

God is PlENiPotENtiary or all-powerful. He is PrEpariNg a place for all who confess their sins. He wants all the saved to remain in His PrEseNce. He will come back in all His sPlENdor. Are you PrEpariNg people for this? Are you PErsuadiNg others with your pen? Let us PrudENtly remove every imPedimENt. Let us as layPErsoNs be concerned with imPowEriNg others with words that save instead of mindlessly casting asPErsioNs.

And remember – Let your light shine ever so brightly in the darkness for the light from a Gospel pen shines much more than a PENlight.
